历时5天的第十二届国际语言学奥林匹克竞赛日前在北京语言大学开幕。来自美国、加拿大、巴西、俄罗斯、西班牙、韩国、日本等28个国家的39支代表队参赛。国际语言学奥林匹克竞赛是全球12类奥林匹克科学竞赛之一，也是唯一一项面向高中生的世界最高水平语言学学科赛事。2013年，北京经过激烈的角逐，获得举办权。
