综述了食指与无名指指长比(指长比率，2D︰4D)与性激素、性别、种族、年龄、认知能力、运动能力等关系的研究。2D︰4D在发育早期就已经确定，具有性别二态性(男性明显低于女性)，被认为是表示出生前睾酮作用的有用指标。目前的实验结果提示2D︰4D可能与运动潜能正相关，杰出的运动员有着较低的2D︰4D。建议将2D︰4D用于运动员选材。
