欧盟第七研发框架计划（FP7）提供资助支持，由法国原子能与可替代能源委员公（CEA）科技人员领导的欧洲NMP研发团队，在小型大功率微波发射装置的研制中，取得重大技术突破。开发出的小型大功率产生电磁辐射的微波振荡器，在雷达侦查、广播电视、卫星通讯，当然还包括微波炉领域，具有广阔的革命性应用前景。

本次会议由中国科学院紫金山天文台毫米波和亚毫米波技术实验室承办，研讨内容涉及大型研究计划进展、亚毫米波超导混频技术、亚毫米波超导接收机及相关技术、亚毫米波直接检波及成像技术等方面。来自日本、韩国、中国大陆及台湾的近80名科研人员参加了本次会议。
