海南长臂猿（Nomascus hainanus）是中国特有的灵长类动物，也是世界上最为濒危的灵长类动物，被世界自然保护联盟（IUCN）评定为极度濒危级别，为国家Ⅰ级重点保护野生动物，在《中国脊椎动物红色名录》中被评估为“极危CR”。20世纪80年代，海南长臂猿数量仅为不足10只，经过长期的持续保护，其野生种群在过去几十年间得以缓慢恢复，截至目前共有5群36只，全部分布于海南热带雨林国家公园霸王岭片...
《生殖生物学》于2009年被内蒙古自治区教育厅认定为自治区级精品课程。该课程是在将科研优势转化为教学优势的教学理念指导下，依托旭日干院士建立发展的动物学国家重点学科和“省部共建草原家畜生殖调控与繁育国家重点实验室”科研平台为基础，面向生物科学（含基地）专业、生物技术（含基地）专业本科生开设的专业方向课。
