糖尿病（diabetes mellitus，DM）是一种慢性代谢性疾病。持续高血糖是糖尿病的主要表型，并随时间推移导致严重的糖尿病并发症。α-葡萄糖苷酶抑制剂可通过抑制体内糖苷酶活性，减少淀粉和寡糖的降解，减少葡萄糖的产生以及延缓葡萄糖的吸收入血来实现其降低餐后高血糖的药效活性。

2021年7月18-23日，由中国植物学会和中国动物学会组成的全国中学生生物学竞赛委员会组织我国4名选手参加了第32届国际生物学奥林匹克竞赛（International Biology Olympiad，简称IBO），本届奥赛由葡萄牙奥赛委员会承办，由于疫情影响，仍以线上答题的形式进行。中国队4名选手全部获得金牌。
