国家重点风景名胜区——仙女湖位于江西省新余市西南郊16公里处，是古籍《搜神记》中记述的“仙女下凡”传说的发祥地，是闻名遐迩的湖泊型国家重点风景名胜区，属亚洲最大的亚热带树种基因库。198平方公里的景区，50平方公里的湖面，岛屿星罗棋布，湖水清澈见底，原始森林神秘诱人。
