北京时间2010年12月7日消息，加拿大多伦多大学和美国罗格斯大学的一支物理学家小组成功模拟了微型超新星。所谓的超新星是指恒星爆炸。在确定类型的超新星爆炸中，爆炸开始于白矮星内部深处的一个火球，火球的重量远低于周围物质，因此可以快速上升，形成一个顶部带有加速烟雾环的羽状结构。
