数学家，长期致力于多复变函数论、复微分几何与代数几何研究。1956年5月生于香港。1978年于美国耶鲁大学获硕士学位。1980年于美国斯坦福大学获博士学位。2015年当选为中国科学院院士。
近日，理学院朱志勇副教授在迭代函数系统的分离条件研究上取得进展，研究成果以“Separation properties for bi-Lipschitz iterated function systems”为题在《Fractals-Complex Geometry Patterns and Scaling in Nature and Society》发表。朱志勇副教授为论文唯一作者。

近日，北京大学数学科学学院郭帅副教授与人合作在BCOV理论的A-模型结构方面取得重要突破。其论文“Polynomial Structure of Gromov–Witten Potential of Quintic 3-folds（五次三维流形的Gromov-Witten势函数的多项式结构）”被国际顶尖数学期刊Annals of Mathematics接收。
