莱阳农学院生命科学学院成立于2002年10月。有生物技术和生物科学本、专科4个专业，生物化学与分子生物学、遗传学、微生物学以及植物学4个硕士点，1647名本专科生和30多名硕士研究生。目前学院教师的在研项目有12项国家级课题，12项省级研究项目，先后发表研究论文800余篇，获国家专利4项，获省级以上科研奖励60余项。其中，“灰树花发酵液提取多糖及其药理作用研究”已成功转让，转让费为900万元。
